Another Year Hostage of Covid-19

A year ago, I wrote about Covid-19 and its effect on people’s heath; fast forward a year and here we are still dealing with one of Covid-19’s derivatives: the Delta variant! It is more contagious than the original Covid-19 and deadly as well.. however, the good news, if there is one, is that we have many vaccines and they seem to be effective at preventing serious illness if infected with the new variant. The vaccination rate is rising and may be, just may be, we have turned the corner on this pandemic and the future is looking brighter than it was a year ago, or is it? The future will tell I guess...

I am growing sick and tired of all the news outlets telling us how bad things are and what we should do to survive these tumultuous times.. There is no happy news anymore these days, between Covid, politics and the violent weather we are having, it almost seems that end times may be nearer than we thought... However, a look back at history tells us that these things happen from time to time and the lucky survivors will carry humanity into the future... So let us not fall into despair but rather summon our inner strengths and do what is right to get through these rocky times... The good times may just be around the corner...

For the second year in a row, I settled for a beach vacation instead of my usual adventure to a far away land. Getting a place on the beach was not trivial either as everyone was trying to do the same and so the rental places were all taken by early summer. Somehow, we managed to find a place east of Destin Florida  in Santa Rosa Beach. Great place to relax and forget all the Huntsville problems… here are some pics from my short vacations …

Good Riddance 2020 and Hello 2021

No one expects to experience a pandemic in their lifetime simply because the last big one was over 100 years ago! Unfortunately, we did this past year and it was awful... However, things could’ve been a lot worse if it weren't for all the technology we have in today's world. Thanks to the internet, cable TV, computers, cellphones, Facetime, Facebook, Amazon, Zoom, and many others ....... we survived!!!

2020 is a year to FORGET; 2021 is a year of HOPE.

Vaccines are here and life is beginning to return to normal, a NEW NORMAL ... Soon I will be back flying to far away places again... Can't wait!!
