Salobrena

Today was a driving day!! My friend, Abdelhak, decided to give us a grand tour around that includes the mountains around Grenada, Alpujarra, as well as Solobrena, the beach town!! What a treat it was… First the drive through the mountains reminded me of Algeria, just across the pond, and the beautiful scattered villages made me feel I was visiting Kabylie, in Algeria. The drive was hard, with the twists and turns and steep climbs but in the end it was worth it. We settled in the town plaza for coffee and snacks then roamed around the small village of Pampanera before that we crossed many other berber like villages like Lanjaron and Orjiva! A sudden thunderstorm popped up and decided to head down to the beach, at Salobrena. We quickly left the thunderstorm behind and the sun was bright and warm…. When we arrived at Salobrena, i was just in heaven! The beautiful calm blue sea with not as many people as I imagined. We headed straight to a restaurant right on the water … we had sardines, some other fish ? and shared a payella. The whole meal was fabulous… and off course the company was great…. Talked about a lot of things .. but did not solve any world problems, just made fun of stupid politicians as usual… why the world has been governed by idiots remains an unanswered question!! We decided to dig deeper into history and find all the idiot leaders and what they have in common may be we can write a “prescription” on how not to elect idiots to power!!! Well enough said about this topic ….. I am on vacation so who cares! Let the generation of “zombies” solve the problem….

Here are some picks…
