On day 3 of my trip, Bouira is on the menu!! The city of Bouira is on the south side of the Djurdjura mountains, in the high plateau. I was born in Bouira and I have lots of family in the city so it is a must stop place.. Today is raining and chilly which is a welcome change to the locals but not to me. We started slow this morning as we are planning to spend the night there so no need to hurry! We have been invited for lunch at my brother’s place, i.e. my father’s house, then go my nephew for dinner and spend the night there too… Driving from Tizi Ouzou to Bouira is no easy task as we had to cross so many small towns that have becomes cities over the years I have been gone!! In addition, we have so many road projects on the way so welcome to a slow and painful drive … One of the cities we crossed is Draa El Mizan, where I went to middle school. To my big surprise, the small town has become a big city!!
