As the title says, Grenoble was not on the menu for this vacation but a ‘force majeure’ decided to put it on the agenda for us. The force majeure I am talking about was a tire blowing up on the highway!! That was a very scary moment when the driver announced that one tire has lost half the pressure and it is still losing pressure so a panic setup in the car looking for what exit to take.. to add to this mess, it was Sunday and everything is closed ! So the odds of getting any help were epsilon with epsilon near zero!! But we did not panic, we drive into a gas station and started adding air to the tire but it was not a small hole but rather a big tear so no way we could drive away safely without a new tire. However, sometimes when all things go dark the north star shows up! It turned out one of the ladies running the station and the small convenience store happens to be Algerian… and most importantly her husband happened to have a car repair shop business so she called him to come over to help us!!!! After he came over, he checked the tire and gave the bad news that the tire was not fixable and that we needed new tires.. At first, we were going to leave the car there and come back the next day, but then the greatest news of the day came that the husband found two tires and that we could have the car fixed by the end of the day, i.e. 7 pm or so!!! So with that news, we decided to head to Grenoble for lunch and sightseeing…
Here are few pictures from Grenoble France..
