My friend and decided to add one more day in Andorra to hike one of the high peaks surrounding the city of Andorra la Vella. After breakfast we headed out of the hotel in the direction of a tourist information office.. It took us a while to get there as it is at the far end of town and we had to walk. Once there we asked about all the trails surrounding Andorra la Vella and to our surprise most of the trails required driving out of the city which we did not want so we were given some options we could starting from the city and we picked one that was not too far and would not take us more than a day to go and come back.. the tourist office was very helpful and provided us with all the needed maps and direction and then we were off... at first we struggled to identify the trails as they do it differently from what we do in the states and in France too, but it did not take us long to find one trail and stayed on it... all the trails from the city have a very steep rise at first then get better afterwards so one has to hang on at the beginning and not quit... having hiked to EBC this was supposed to be a piece of cake and i thought my friend will throw in the towel and quit on me but he did not and actually led all the way to the top... so enough for me trying to teach him a hiking lesson, he actually survived better than I thought and did everything I asked him to do and then some ... he got a pass from me and blessed him to try EBC ..
We are beat up today, we walked for 40,500 steps, 18.5 miles, 276 floors climbed!!! We were so tired that we had the buffet of the hotel instead of going to a restaurant outside... we still managed a walk before hitting the sack.... enjoy the pics... tomorrow on to Lourdes France !!
