Hello from Lima Peru

The trip from my Quito hotel to my hotel in Lima took about eight hours, two hours each for Quito and Lima traffic!!  The flight was run by Avianca airline and they were terrific!! We were served dinner on board unlike United which gave us nothing but drinks for six hours between Houston and Quito!! We were asked to buy our food!!!

It is 12:30 AM and I am now in my hotel room in Lima Peru, my second stop on this trip! I have a tour of Lima tomorrow but thank god it starts at 9:00 so I can rest some!

I am now back to sea level and what a difference that makes; headaches are gone and dehydration is gone!!! However, Cusco and its 11,200 ft altitude are yet to come so no celebration yet!! I ran a small experiment on a bag of nuts just to show the effects of altitude so see for yourselves;

Well, I hope you all see the difference between these bags!! That is what our body experiences too at these altitudes and helps explain the source of the headaches experienced at high altitude in addition to reduced oxygen; so altitude sickness is no fluke!!!
