Sunrise over Paris. A thick blanket of clouds covers Paris today.
It has taken five long years to fly back to Algeria, my country of birth. This is not by choice but rather forced on me by this invisible but potent enemy called Covid (19-20-21-22-23)… pic one!! I had the 23 edition of Covid twice this year!!!! Speaking of a bad year, I had one for sure!! I wanted to end the year on a positive note so here I go… I am not staying in Paris but rather just passing by twice … Charles De Gaule airport needs lots of help catching up to US airports in terms of ease on navigation and available coffee shops … they still use buses between terminal … really! Come on CDG… The next airport will be worse but I will have my nephew waiting for me so I will be out quickly unless the Algerian customs find my chocolates in which case, I will have to share it with them to get out … oh well we shall see .. At the moment, I am dying to have coffee but no coffee shop … 😑…
The building boom is alive and well in my home town, where entirely new neighborhoods are born. Having settled in my sister’s home outside the city of Tizi Ouzou , where i spent three yeats as a student, we decided to drive around my old stumping grounds… i could barely recognize anything from the old days…
