From Geneva to Aix en Provence

Today is a road trip day, and I love those, so much so that I drove with friends across the USA in the 1980s (pre-historic times) Providence (RI) to Los Angeles (CA) taking the northern route (I80-I90) one way and the southern route (I40-I70) the other way!! One whole month of driving… At some point I was having nightmares about driving, waking up in the middle of the night screaming that I just crashed! But off course not.. Well that is then and this is happening today … A 5-hour drive from Geneva, Switzerland, to Aix en Provence, France, to visit a sick high school friend of ours… Our friend, Rabah, from Besancon, France joined us for the long drive.

The toll roads were eating our lunch! But we had no choice but to use those as they are fast so no choice really. As we moved south, the scenery was changing from cloudy and colder to sunny and warmer… there were some small mountains along the way so the scenery was great…

When we got to our friend’s place in Aix en Provence, it was 3:00 pm! He waited for us off course, though he was sick. He was wearing a mask as his immune system is compromised by the heavy chimo treatment. We stayed with him for an hour or so  then left to get our room downtown.

Here are some pics from today
