My vacation is moving fast and furious!! Stockholm was great but way to short to be a fair judge so another visit may be needed but who knows if that will happen?
For my trip to Oslo from Stockholm, my flight was with Ethiopian airline, yes that is right Ethiopian airline!! At first, I was very nervous booking it but it was through expedia so I said why not… it was so cheap that I could not pass on it: $63 for the one way ticket!!! To the credit of Ethiopian airline, they contacted me immediately asking me to upgrade which i declined but the emails kept coming none the less… they did send me a link for my boarding pass so I was happy and my fear went away once I got my boarding pass! the flight was on time and there was plenty of room on board !! It was a short flight, about one hour, and I arrived in Oslo …Airport paperwork was slow but made it through fine.. I took a bus to downtown. Knowing the address of my hotel, i just used google maps to get me there.. unfortunately i was too early for checking in so i had to wait until 3 pm! So I started roaming around downtown Oslo and very quickly realized how beautiful this place is … so move over Stockholm here comes Oslo !!! I love this place even more … As this is summer solstice time, celebrations were everywhere all day and all night !! I saw a midnight sun finally … I was up until 3 am and there was still sun light in the sky …. Amazing place !! People are polite and helpful … English is understood and spoken by many so no problem at all … I did have a $100 dinner all by myself not including disert!!! In the US it would have been $40 max but it is Oslo and that is the way it is!! Oh well, these are the moments I save money for so why not I say!! Life is way too short, so EAT YOUR DESERT FIRST!
I m writing this page sitting in a Starbucks with free wifi, so thank you Starbucks!! I can count on you everywhere .. I did the same in Kyoto Japan and Cusco Peru!!! Starbucks is constant …
