Rio: Sugar Loaf

It is 6:00 am and we are back to a our Rio hotel on Copa, the Windsor Atlantico!! This is a great hotel and we were treated well by the front desk staff.. We got the room we wanted and we got it early but at a cost off course!! No free lunch here too, but we are happy we can rest since we did not sleep all night... My friend and I are also happy since we will not change hotels for the rest of the vacation, it is tiring to be constantly on the move... So far the report card for Brazil is an "A+"; we loved Iguazu Falls, we had a blast on New Year's Eve on Copa and we relaxed on the beautiful beaches of Natal; so all in all just a great vacation! I do not visit places more than once as there are too many places and too short of a time to visit all the places on my bucket list, but Brazil and Rio may be my first exception to this rule... I love this place, it is alive and vibrant and people are just awesome .... I will have to learn Portuguese though as it is the language of the land and not too many Brazilians speak English well......

Arabic coffee and fast food in Natal!!!!

Natal airport is very cute and brand new

Today we visited "Sugar Loaf"; an awesome place to take panoramic pictures of Rio... This is also one of the iconic places of Rio and is pictured in most of Rio postcards!! One needs to take cable cars to reach the top of Sugar Loaf and the lines to buy tickets are huge. After taking it easy the whole morning at the hotel, we decided to see one of the places we had on our list and so we picked Sugar Loaf  due to its proximity to Copa. We took a taxi to save time and it was a good idea since the line to buy tickets was a mile long though it was moving fairly quickly! The cable cars take a good number of people. There are two mountain peaks in Sugar Loaf, the second is taller than the first... When we arrived at the first, we were all stunned by the beauty of the scenery and landscape in front of us. One can take pictures in all directions and we did.. The second peak offers even more sweeping views of Rio and its surrounding, all in all an awesome place to visit.
