Day 2 in Lisbon was dedicated to visiting the castle high above the city! So as soon as I was done with breakfast at the hotel, I called for an Uber ride which showed up very quickly! The castle is at the highest point above the city so the drive there was rather slow! Negotiating casbah style streets and uphill is no easy task.. glad I was not the driver.. my driver did great getting me up there in a good time as well… 5 euros is all I paid for that ride, a bargain really!! Once I got up there, the views were spectacular! There was an entrance fee for the castle, once I paid that, I was off to races!! Climbing tons of steps and negotiating narrow passages but the views were amazing in all directions!! After a couple hours I decided to head back down to the city on foot following narrow streets with gift shops everywhere!! I stopped at a couple of them just for curiosity and by now I knew what to expect … the same stuff you find everywhere there are tourists !! … you guessed it … keys chaines and all the jazz !!
I stopped for a sardines lunch but I was disappointed this time… not that great at all … oh well not everything has to go perfectly well … the previous night’s dinner was awesome so it is a tie score 1-1 let us see what tomorrow brings …
End if day 2 with just more sightseeing and enjoying the awesome cool weather ..
